The Carroll Community Festival has a rich history, dating back to 1958. 

The festival originated as the Carroll Centennial in 1958 and became an annual event starting in 1962. From 1962 to 1967, it was known as the Carroll Community Ox Roast. In 1968, the name was changed to Old Timers Week and the Ox Roast. The festival retained the name Old Timers Week Ox Roast until 1987. In 1988, the term "Ox Roast" was dropped, and the event was known simply as the Old Timers Festival through 2016. In 2017, the festival adopted its current name: the Carroll Community Festival.
